Brief Bio:
Castro has been playing goalkeeper for 16 years now and transferred to NDNU in 2009 from Evergreen Valley College. Before that he transferred from University of Cincinnati to Evergreen. He also played at Watsonville High. He heard about NDNU from his junior college coach that use to coach at NDNU. He has been the starting goalie for the Argo men’s soccer team for the last two years. As a graduating senior, this will be his last year on the team. He hopes to play pro soccer and eventually become an English teacher.

1. Through the years what did you like most about playing at NDNU?
“I really like that everyone on the team gets along and people try not to outshine others, as well everyone is always included in everything.”
2. How do you feel about this 2011/2012 season?
“There have been a lot of heartbreaks, but the team should be able to pull themselves together and finish the season strong.”
3. How did Coach Ron impact your game when you came here?
“He made me mentally a stronger player, because his comments not always the nicest were constructive and helpful to my game.”
4. How do you go pro?
“You have to go to combines and get scouted”
5. What are the challenges and benefits of becoming pro?
“The challenges is how good you are and trying to be the best and the benefits are fulfilling my dream.”

Brief Bio:
Jay Tsuruoka was born in Manoa, Hawaii and played goalkeeper all four years at Roosevelt High School. This is his first year here at NDNU and is the new up and coming goalkeeper for the Argos. He went to Kapiolani Community College for his first year of college before transferring to NDNU this year on the recommendation of a former high school classmate who attends NDNU. He hopes to go pro after graduation.

1. How do you like your team and your teammates?
“I like how the team acts like a team off the field and how everyone has each other’s back.”
2. How do you feel about this 2011 /2012 soccer season?
“I feel that the team should be doing better, but we have had some tough breaks and will keep playing through anything.”
3. How do you like your coaches BJ Noble and Paul McCallion?
“I like that they let us play soccer and not try to control every move we make on the field or how we should play.”
4. Next year how do you feel your role will change from this year?
“I feel that I will need to take on a more leadership role since Isiah will be graduating this year.”
5. What is your favorite food to eat before a game?
“ I do not have a favorite food I eat I just try to eat healthy and drink a lot of water.”
